Alpha 1 tilt/trim problem

When trying to operate the tilt/trim or the "push to trailer" button on my '87 Wellcraft with 260 Mercruiser and Alpha I outdrive, I get 3-5 clicks before it finally engages and lifts or lowers the outdrive. Does anyone have a reason and fix for this?

dirty power cable connection to the trim pump assembly,
Trim solenoids going bad internally or corroded externally at the buss bar

I had the same problem. I cleaned up all the terminals with a light sanding, reconnecting them all making sure they were tight. Works fine
