Alpha 1 Upper Drive Gear Ratios

I have a 4 bbl 5.7 Mercruiser coupled to an Alpha Gen 1.<br /><br />What would be the correct gear ratio in the upper drive? I counted the driven gear, its 20 teeth, means its a 1.32.<br /><br />I have ordered the 1.5 gear ratio by mistake. Is it possible to use the 1.5? Trying to avoid the 30% restocking fee...ouch<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Qystan

GM V8s use 1.50/1 ratio<br />20/22 1.47(1.50)<br />17/19 1.84<br />20/24 1.98

If indeed your drive was a 1.32 (and that was an optional ratio for a while), a 1.5 will still work, but you will almost certainly have to change props.
