Alpha drive water pump base replacement

I have a 1988 alpha drive,not a gen 2.I am replacing the water pump and the pump base.I have never done the base before.I pryed it up and off.Looks like there is just a gasket for the base and an oring to go around the round part of the base..Is that all for the base or am I missing something..? Looks too simple.Charlie

Mine is the Alpha One drive also ..... I just did mine also and thats all that was there on mine the gasket and o-ring...... I also thought too simple ......

There are also 2 seals on the inside that seal on the vertical shaft.

That's right Don I forgot about those oops still early not enough coffee intake just yet lol

I will take a close look but should I assume that the new water pump base does not come with the seals on it??

That I couldnt tell ya for certain as I said I got the whole kit that had impeller pump cover and all gaskets , seals and orings and impeller to do the job

compared to the base that I removed,the new one (sierra) is exactly the same.Guess it came with the seal..??

ASSUME NOTHING, Just look at it, the seals are really obvious.

Thats exactly what it looks like.Thanks for the pic.I was surprised I was able to buy a complete kit for less than $30 charlie
