alpha exhaust bellows replacement

Ok, whats the trick to getting the blasted thing back on the outdrive housing? I've got it on the transom side, as per the manual, but can't figure out how you get it expanded enough to get on the other side....there must be a trick to it.....

If you indeed have the manual...there is no secret to how to do it.
Read the manual.
Use the bellows expander tool it says to use.

I did it with 2 sets of hands and a homemade tool. The expander tool would have been easier, but it can be done.

While the expander tool it is the "proper way", I went a poor man's route. I went to Dollar Tree and got a couple of el' cheapo barbeque forks and bent the prongs out sideways, then I wrapped the prongs in electrical tape. I used them 180 degrees from each other to push the bellows end on, while a buddy tightened the clamp.
