i replaced the upper seals in this unit, the yoke as well,(scored) i put it all together with a new impeller kit and pressure tested it, 10lbs, would not hold presure for more than a few minutes before dropping. i 1st sprayed soapy water all over the upper unit with no bubbles, i could hear a sound coming from inside the unit, where the shaft runs. then i split the unit in 2 again. i put my finger over the oil hole on top of the lower unit & pressurized it again, found bubbles forming around the impeller cover, removed that and the lower plate and sprayed it again and bubbles are coming from the shaft seal under the impeller pump.
here is a video of what i found

can anyone guide me on making this repair?

I can't view videos where I am, but from your description, it sounds like the drive shaft seal. You can pop those out with a couple of screwdrivers, and a lot of 'enthusiasm'... The last one I did took a lot of convincing to come out. As long as you don't slip and mar the surfaces, you can destroy the seal carrier as much as you like. Once it's out, one way or another ;), clean the surfaces and push the new one in....

i looked up the info and of course, there is no serial # on this drive and the listing calls for either 1 or 2 seals depending on serial #. can i tell which is which when i disassemble it?

One lip faces the lube and the other faces the water. The lip always faces what your trying to keep, so flat side together
