Alpha I compatability question.

Is the 4 cylinder 470 engine Alpha I, I/O bell housing and gimbal the same as the V8 Alpha I? Need a quick response if possible! Thanks

the engine bell housing is different the drive "bell housing" and gimbal housing are the same...

What about the gimbal "ring?"

The thing on the back of the engine is the flywheel housing. The transom assembly bellhousing and gimbal ring are the same for a 470 or a V8.
