Hi guys. I was just looking at the service manual and it was saying all I had to do to remove was to put in forward, disconect speedo hose, remove trim cylinders, remove six nuts and remove. Is there not a hose for the gear lube res? Seems like I'm missing something. I have to take the drive off so I can move the boat to one side of my shop so I can fit my truck so I can change a blown motor in the truck. Haven't had the drive off this one yet. I've had a pre alpha off a 79 140 merc and I'm thinking Its much the same. Thanks for imput, Ken

The 'hose' for the lube oil monitor is cast into the bellhousing. Nothing to disconnect, and when it's apart the oil will not leak because the connection has check valves in it. If you've done it with your old MC-1 drive, it is EXACTLY the same.

Thanks. Must have a good design to not change in 25 years. That will be the easy part. Next I have to change the engine in my truck by the end of the weekend. Thanks again Ken
