I recently must of wedged a log between my outdrive and prop. It snapped my hydofoil off and a chunk of my outdrive too. What are my options to fix this? Hopefully i can get by with only spending a few hundred bucks. thanx for the help.
If the plate is the only dammage YOU could get some 1/8 ALU plate ,make a pattern and attach the parts just below the old plate

It would not be pretty but should function

Welding would be a nother option BUT it looks a LOT of welding

tommays
not to mention the new prop shaft. try and find a housing. its gotta need a new prop shaft... i dont think that a few hundy would be a good bet. it might not leak fluid now but it WILL
Replace it....You can get an SEI replacement pretty cheap on ebay....
You might want to check out your anti corrosion system, (zincs & such) you look like your trim rams are starting to get et!....
BTW, welcome to the forum at iboats ....JK
i have a good used lower caseing off of my 1976 Mark Twain i will make ya deal on.
i believe it will fit 73-90 mercs.

i hit a log on another boat once and i had the whale tail on there also, it broke off one side off my lower unit aswell.

good luck
and about this anti corrosion system? where are the anodes located? yeah i am an idiot!! This is my first boat and i am new to all of this....thanx everyone for your help
That's Too Old to have an Anti-corrosion System...........

The Anode Should be right there in the Damaged Area,..... Above the Prop.......

Interchangability I'm Not sure on,....... Just How Old is this thing,..???.....
