I couldn't find it in the manual - I'm getting ready to install my transom assembly back onto the boat. I have a new foam rubber seal that goes in the groove all the way around the transom assembly - do I need to add any sealant to this seal besides a little bit of bellows adhesive in the corners to temporarily hold it in place during the installation? I also was looking for the torque specs for the bolts/nuts.

In my cases, seal didn't stay in groves well. So, I put black 5200 on the metal side and then c-clamped and allowed to semi-cure. However, mine were from an 86 boat and basically a total transom restoration. I do not want to rebuild again. After completion and before mounting motors, I filled boat with water up to drive shaft opening. No leaks!!!!!!! I think 22-26 lbs of torque in figure 8 pattern. I also used ss lock nuts. Good luck

also, there is a seam in the gasket where they weld the two ends together... Its good practice to locate that at 12 o'clock. That part of the drive is typically above the water line in most boats so if it fails, its the ideal place for it...
