Alpha One Gen 2 Help

Have a 97' Alpha One Gen2 outdrive. the boat sits in a rack and launch. Went fishing yesterday, checked all fluid levels and was good to go. Had marina put on the trailer to take home to take on vacation. When I got home and was prepping the boat I noticed that the outdrive reservoir was completely empty. drained some fluid from the outdrive and there was water in it. No metal shavings but clearly an emulsion. Did not see any signs of leaking anywhere so I decided to drain and refill and see what happens. When refilling, after I got it past the vent hole and travelling up the hose, it started pouring out of the outdrive hose where I could not see it. Upon further investigation I see that the hose is sheared in half. I am trying to leave on vacation tomorrow and do not think any repair shop would squeeze me in today.. Since there doesn't seem to be any internal damage to the outdrive, could I possibly just plug the hose and use it for a week . I know that it might be risky not knowing if the level would stay right, but the history of it says I should be fine. If I add more than 4 ounces a year to the reservoir I'd be surprised..

If your positive it is the hose that sheared in half, plug both ends. there is a plastic connector fitting in the transom so be carefull removing the old hose

Yes I am positive it is sheared in half. The split half coming out of the drive is very easy to get at and plug, but the other is very hard to reach. Would it be o.k. to leave that one unplugged. I know it would be open to water coming up the hose but it should never travel vertical enough to come into the reservoir . Going to replace the whole thing anyway when I get back.

Ayuh,.... Plug the drive side, I think a 3/8" bolt does a good job, along with a screw clamp,....

You could also go to yer local hardware store, 'n get a 3/8" hose barb coupler, 'n 2 screw clamps,...

Fish out the bottle side hose, 'n use the barb to join it to the drive side hose,...
It'll be Back in business, no more worries,...
