Yes, if you just changed the lower half of the drive and have the same prop... all should be the same. Gear ratio is in the upper half. Not sure what went wrong or why the rpms running sky high... but something is wrong.

ok i understand. well where do i find the ratio for the lower drive and what steps do i need to take to get it back to normal? It currently has a 4 blade 20 pitch prop right now. My bro who has the same outdrive and has a 4 blade 22 pitch that im gonna try. It was also on here where i was told the ratio didnt matter with the lower drive.

Sorry, my bad. I read your post wrong. I thought you changed the whole drive. But now that I read it again I see you changed the lower only and therefor it does not affect the ratio.:redface:

does anyone have any advice at where I could start looking for the problem? I didn't change anything besides the lower drive. :confused:
