Alpha one Gen 2 Serial number ?

Can someone confirm or deny that this is the location for a serial number for this outdrive?

I need to order new planetary gearing for this unit and PO removed any labels.

Nope,.... It's along the top outside portside of the housing,... Look Here,....

Ya know, you might want to think about a new SEI drive for all you could spend

Second photo... The yoke's out, but the cover nut and all the bearings are still in... Please tell me you didn't take the top cover off and remove the nut on the back of the drive gear to pull the yoke out.....

I can see the Teeth of the Bevel gear on the top of the Vertical Drive Shaft. !!!
