Alpha One GEN II: Smashed Wear Pads

Hi there,

I just smashed both wear pads (No. 7) while trying to re-install the outdrive. Do I need to replace them prior to re-installing the drive or, afterwards to prevent them from getting smashed again. Beside, why are they there

Before you put it on.they are there for the very reason they are called wear pads.If not there the alumninum will get gouged up,and possiby wear on the pivot pins as the pads are there like shims also.

Along with being wear pads, they need to be there as spacers so the pivot housing doesn't twist excessively.

Ayuh,... They're wear pads, that align the outdive,...

Replace 'em, or you'll have Much larger problems...

How did ya smash 'em so bad, just puttin' the drive on,..??
If the drive won't go on, there's usually a Reason....

Thank's all. Will replace them accordingly. I think I forgot to give the Propeller shaft a little spin while pushing in. Alignment, shift shaft, O-rings and gear in forward - everything was OK. Have to try again...
