Re: alpha one gen one leak question

OK I just test ran it on the muffs and no leaks that I could find didn't pressure teat the drive as I was unable to find a drain nipple today so I went ahead and filled it tried it. I was bad and perfect sealed all the waterpump gaskets(don,t shoot me)

Well now I am off to make a post about my tilt-trim system

Thanks,

You drained the drive to see what the lube looked like?

Don't worry about us shooting you, it's your drive not ours.

I don't understand you say you are having trouble locating the drain nipple to do the pressure test.... then you filled it... how are you filling your drive up without a pump?

Lol have. Pump just doesn't have the drain plug tip has a regular round tip that I can hold tight in the drain plug.

I drained it Because I knew I had a leak the reason I could find a tip was simply because non of the places that may have had one were closed today

I am not sure where you live, but you can pick up a pump at any marine store, Auto Zone, Wallmart, probably NAPA.

With your method of filling, you have the vent cap off (top screw) and fill thru the bottom drain until gear lube comes out the top vent? Filling from the bottom drain hole not the top?

The pump I have came from AutoZone however it doesn't have that tip on it just a small round nipple

Yes I did fill from the bottom with the vent acres out until the new oil came out clear
