alrighty so im having lower unit troubles....i was stupid and new it had a leak but didnt realize how bad so i ran it out of fluid and now itll go in gear and move the boat fine but it clanks ... i have no clue what to look for i have it pulled i assumed it was the gear box but a couple of boat shops told me that it is rarely the lower part and to remove the plate on the top and look in there and there should be my problem..so i looked in there and looks fine...the only thing is that the ujoints are rusted but move freely and the bearing that the driveshaft slips through came apart....any advice on what to look for? or what to do

Re: alpha one gen2

so u think its just that bearing....

You'll never know untill you replace it and find out. But you are going to need a lot more than that. Like a new bellows, new ujoints (they have water in them and will corrode) and if you was running the drive with no gear lube in it, don't expect it to last.
Here's a link to the OEM service manual, I think you're going to need it.

If your manual isn't that detailed, then it's either a Seloc or Clymers. Because the link I gave you is EXACTLY what the OEM paper manuals are that the dealers have as shop manuals. Exactly the same.
