Alpha One water pumps torque question...

Only my second time replacing pump so not sure if I'm doing this right.

Went together well, I set my 3/8" drive torque wrench to 90 inch-lbs (10 Newton meters) but I can't get it to click. There's not much resistance and I'm not sure if I should keep going, I have almost 1/2" of thread past the pump nuts and the washers are starting to dig into the top pump housing.

How do you know when to stop???

Its not a lot of torque at all -- just don't make the mistake I made and set it to 90 ft-lbs!

In the torque spec chart on page 3B1 of the Mercruiser Service Manual #6 it states 90 inch-lbs for the pump housing nuts. However on page 3B52 it states 60-80 inch-lbs. Setting torque wrench to 60 clicked nice for me without any damage. Newbs beware...
