I have an 87 mercruiser 165 four cylinder. I am dumping coolant somewhere. The spark plugs are good and the oil is clean so that would indicate its not a head gasket. Any ideas? Also how does this boat cool itself?

Ayuh,... Raw water is pumped by the impeller in the lower unit up through the heat exchanger, 'n out the exhaust riser....

My guess is, there's a hole in the heat exchanger...

And I suppose the only fix is a new 1000 heat exchanger?
