1984 260 Merc Alpha 1 R. When adjusting the lower shift cable, do you measure the 6" when the cable is pushed in or when it is out at the end of its play (9/16"). I assume the 6" is when the cable is pushed in as far as it will go and forward gear is locked. Thanks.
