Ayuh,... That sounds like yer swappin' in a Gen.II where an Alpha 1 was...

If so, you'll need to drill 2 more mountin' holes, just above the transom keyhole...
Other than that, it oughta be a plug, 'n play swap...

Re: alpha transoms

Thanks i seen the change in the bolt holes, i drilled 2 new ones. I was also wondering if there was any different change in the angle of the gimble bearing after mounted? Ive installed the new housing complete and when i put the engine back in it seems the front of the engine needs to gone down to align correctly? I dont see a problem with the engine going down hill a couple of degress but im thinking something changed in the hosing area. thanks for the info dan

the alignment tool will tell you where you need to go with the front of the motor.

Yes i did the alignment and i had to really move the motor mounts so ethier it was way off to start with or my thoughts were there is a difference in the back transom asm on some units. I dont think it really matters i was just curious.

Ayuh,.... You moved things from hull to hull...

There's probably slight differences between the transom angles, 'n the motor mount heights between the hulls...

The tool will tell ya whether it's the bearing in the housing, or where the motor sits...
