I am doing a lot of work on my 70 hp VRO outboard(evinrude) and i was talkign to a mechanic who rebuilds motor and was talking to me about selling me an 88 special that has the power head rebuilt..and he mentioned he replaces the fuel pump on all the motors he does. i asked why because it is a VRO?
he said no, but he does replace the motors that came with the VRO system with regular fuel pumps as well..he said the 88 hp didnt have VRO( i think he said that anyway)
so what is the fuel pump that can be used to repalce a VRO fuel pump combo?
I want to put a new fuel pump onthis motor when i get it back together...
the mechainc said it is good cheap insurance for money spent on the motor to that point....because no fuel = no oil!!!
