Alternative carb for 9.9 Gamefisher?

Is it possible to put a different carb on the motor without issue? Since the carb is no longer offered through Sears Parts Direct, I'm without conventional options of just replacing it with factory unit. The current unit is cracked in a few spots and I don't want to risk fire, leaks, etc. with crack repair. If anyone has a good carb for an '82 9.9/15hp Gamefisher (model #s 217586251/217568270/217586351), I'm open for purchase!

I believe this engine was made by Chrysler and is basically the same exact engine.

I thought it was a Tecumseh (from the tag on the block itself)? If it's a Tecumseh, would a carb from another similar motor (such as from a mower, snow blower, etc.) work?

The carb is probably a Tilotson (sp). Any how it should have a model # on the carb. Match that up and it will work. Parts are readily available for rebuild but I don't know about entire carbs. It is a Tecumseh. Have you tried jb weld to repair the cracks? Could maybe find used on e-bay.
