Alternator hook up Help!!

I am trying to wire my alternator (converting from a rotor,stator setup)on my 3.7 mcm 470 series 4cyl inboard.

I have a mercury marine alternator...A red wire and a greyish brown wire.
I would like to know if anyone can help me by specifying where the leads need to hook up to on my motor etc.

Really what you want is the GM single wire type. Can you post a pic of the alt your trying to use.

Looks like the Mando one, Korean. The purple is the "excite, the red is the "sense".
