Alum. floor

I'm putting an alum. floor in my first restoration. 1985 16ft C/C Starcraft.

Trying to decide between Grizzly coating or one of the vinyl floor products. This boat will see a lot of fishing so the floor will take a beating.

I will probably use the Grizzly coating on the sides so it would probably look better with Grizzly coating on the floor.

I would like opinions on wich product would hold up better. Freshwater use and maybe saltwater every couple of years for a week.

Thanks

Re: Alum. floor

I'd go with the Grizzly or Durabak or Kiwi Grip. I just put vinyl in my project and have air bubbles. It's kinda a pain to work with. For your project I'd go with one of the coatings. Make sure you do your research to make sure you don't need a special primer on the aluminum.

Welcome to iboats!

Rustoleum on the sides will save you a ton of money and since you do not walk on the sides why waste any deck treatments there?

I am curious on how you plan to attach the alum. floor to your boat...and are you going to use a diamond plate finish?...I'm in the process of redoing the deck in my 15.5' bass boat and looking at other materials other then wood...also, were you going to fiberglass over the aluminum prior to using GG?...I am sure you will have some seems this is why I was asking about the fiberglass over the alum.
