Hi i am new to this boating thing and pu a 58 Flying C and teh previous owner was having problems with the windshield so he did the duct tape repair. I have attatched some close up pics of the windshield. My question is the windshield is loose in the alluminum track but it has some holes going around the windshield that some holes have some rivot type fastners in them and some are just holes. can anyone tell me what might be missing? thank you in advance

Re: Alumacraft windshield question

the middle picture looks like snaps for an old rag top. also looks like the aluminum frame has been pulled away from the glass. you might use some windshield sealant/glue, to reseal it, and get it pressed back down around the glass.

great looking boat.

Re: Alumacraft windshield question

Buckeye,

Can't beat those old Alumacrafts. Strong boats. I have seen pictures in an old Alumacraft ad for the flying C with a cloth top. Those snaps are where it attaches. If you remove the frame from the window plexiglass you can reseal it with a silicone window sealer. Good Luck with your project.
