Before it gives way and requires welding is there a way to keep my hitch from distorting the welded eyelette on my '94 jetcraft. Is there some kind of stainless spacer kit with a ring to latch to?

You could latch up with an aluminum hook rather than a steel one, that way it couldn't do any damage. Thats just a wild stab I can't picture exactly what you have.

Sorry, didn't quite know how to phrase my ? Camera was dead and kids raided my battery stockpile.

Was thinking about some kind of stainless shackle but with a spacer that would just fit the hole. I changed out the way too big hitch hook that was originally on the boat with a smaller one. The large hook was binding in the hole and spreading it.

Aaaaaaahhhhh,... The Bow Eye,... or Eyes in your case....

It appears there's Still a considerable amount of Meat left,...

I think abit of lubrication,+ Alot Less Abuse will allow to to Last, a long, long time...

You've already taken care of most of the Abuse by switching out to the proper sized Hook,...
Maybe a shot of spray Sillycone,+ call it Good....

As for Repair, rebuilding,....
It'd be a 20 minute job with a Mig,... Just run a couple of beads,+ be Done...
But,...
It doesn't look Necessary....

I like that double eye. I can see multiple uses for that.....

Bow eye, got it. So simple yet...beyond my brain at the time. Not to stray into different waters but part of my concern is the tension on my bow eye due to the location of some kind of keel guide at the front of my trailer. When I pull out of the water the boat will pivot on this guide. I have been considering removing it altogether or sectioning it about an inch or more. I have already shimmed the bunks a bit but I'd rather the boat ride lower on the trailer. Do I even need this 'keel guide' on the trailer? boat hitch 004.jpgboat hitch.jpg

I would like to study a picture of what the entire boat and trailer looks like just the way it sits now. Maybe an adjustment of the winch post could effect everything, I don't like the bunk spacers. What happens if back the trailer in deeper? By the looks of that top eye your really having to honk on that winch, you should be able to just almost float the boat into place.

You are right, I forgot, I did move the hitch forward when I made an attempt to get a bit more tongue weight. Last spring I rolled the wheels back a full foot to finally correct this problem and didn't undo my my original hack attempt.
Thanks for the reminder. How the original owner got by with this trailer setup 'as was' I'll never know. I couldn't get above 50 on the freeway without getting a lil squirley.
