Re: aluminum mod

but he can still use the nidacore to build a wall and install a door, right? on his alyoumeeneeum boat?

Mike, I was thinking of your project when I saw Grank's.

Hi fish! Yeah sure, he could although I liked your idea of the nicor better, He would have to use inserts if using the nidacore you know, for attaching stuff.i think the alu would look better too on his boat. But Ill hang around here see...alyoumeeneeum:D:D

Re: aluminum mod

I just googled and yes I am mistaken,I now know that coosa and plastic wood are two different animals.
anyway, that plastic wood stuff is nice, the coosa too but again;one would have two work with inserts. Now the so called plastic wood handles like wood is rot,u.v proof.Meaning you would be able to screw it . It has its price tough that stuff is expensive...

no progress yet it is cold here, good fishing, one could work because i have a heater -propane- but i must find out the best way to go about it. was reading on glass and
3/8 tempered glass seems to be good, although acrylic does not yellow and if one could make it easy to change then this could be the wy to go, also i dont want to screw the aluminum into my deck, so i could use 3m 5200.
these are my thoughts at the moment. it is nice of you all to take an interest and any advice will be duly noted.

Re: aluminum mod

Ahmmm, 5200 to join to the deck? No good.If you really dont want to screw(why not) use a adhesive filler.
I would strongly suggest though that you do screw first,5200 is good stuff but no good for your type of aplication.
its gotta be structual strong.

You can use "closed-end" blind rivets. The rivet hole is sealed:

But really - your boat has a bilge for a purpose.

It might be worth spending the energy to find a welder machine or a welder person with a machine. He might even look at the project and have the perfect solution and material. Thus, "mischeif managed".

My idea also..You mentioned your boat was localy manufactured,I would contact this company and have them take alook,They might be able to construct what you want,
About any holes in boats,They can be sealed you know,Your whole boat is full of holes and rivets and they dont leak either..(Ihope)
Anyway good luck with whatever you choose.
