Have an update on the solution I elected….

After all the welding was done. The back and the inside of the transom was looking pretty horrible as you can see you from the photos.

Around that time when I would be driving my regular route to work. I would pass by, what I would eventually find out, is a local college kid, most days of this summer out there standing down JetSkis.

One day I stopped in introducing myself. I asked him what he’s working on and he said that he’s got his own JetSki and also refurbishes JetSki for other people. I asked him if he’d take on my project and he excitedly agreed.

Before handing over the hull I did some 5200 over the seams at the back. Over the last couple of weeks. He’s been working on prime and paint and I think the results are really great. I still have a lot of work at the back, but I think it’s just become now part of the history of the hull and a story to tell, I guess, yeah we’ll run with that :). Once everything is bolted back in, I think most of the warping and paint peel will be concealed, and I’m very happy with the results.
