Props are weird, and that is why there is no definative guide to them. You try 5 props at 15X17, and have them all perform differently. If you are running at the upper end of the rpm range, I would start with the same size and pitch with a stainless one. It may perform differently, but usually better. All else held constant, (size, pitch, hull weight, etc.) a stainless is usually a little faster b/c it is more ridged, but not usually more than 2 mph. What type of rpm's are you running? Good Luck.
