even though this is a Clarion Marine am-fm-cd radio, I think all the moisture that managed to get into my boat last winter has done something to it. All I can get is a faint flickering in the LCD screen--no codes, numbers, noise. I'd appreciate advice on where to start trouble shooting (I've checked the fuse and main wire connecing plug--all ok) thanks, Larry

Sounds like you have several electrical problems that came up over the last storage period. Check all grounds by removing them and cleaning them. Don't just check to see if they are tight because a little corrsion can can cause big problems when it comes to conducting electricity. How long is the warranty on that radio?

Now that you know it's broke- better go buy a new one.

Try removing and reconnecting (after a couple of minutes) the pemanent DC line so that the unit resets. This is the red wire that goes to the battery and does not normally turn off. This might bring it back to life. If not, the it is badly broken if the microprocessor is acting weird. It will indeed be time to get a new unit.

Amir

Bring it inside, fut a fan on it for a day or 2, in the meantime check all the wires behind the radio, often there is more than 1 fuse back there to check. Check power out from the power lead to see if you are getting bat voltage. If not trace that stuff back and check for connections and corrosion. If you are, cross your fingures and hope the head unit comes back to life.
