Am I in Trouble

Hello Guys

I have done all the winterizeng things on my 1986 Johnson 90 HP - fog the engine, new gear oil, sprayed some VD40 on the block and engine, took out the battery and empty the fuel in the tank.

After I have done all this I have read some threads on winterizing engines and when they discribe the fogging og the engine they all say that it is done at idle until the engine dies. When i did it on my engine i gave some RPM to really get the oil in the engine.

My question is if that is a problem that i have been spraying a bit more oil in because the engine was running at higher RPM???

It isn't a problem as such. But unnecessary to rev the engine. At idle, the fogging oil will gradually build until the engine dies. Hopefully you have added fuel stabilizer to the fuel and run that through the engine before doing this. Put it to bed.

I just wanted to be sure. I did not put fuel stabilizer in before i did this but i will clean the carbs before i will run it in the summer. I will also change the plugs.

If you didn't run the carbs out of fuel and used no stabilizer you may want to go and drain the carb bowls. Might save you a carb job in the spring.

Thanks for the replys - I think I will just clean the carbs in the spring. I was just worried that i had done something wrong when i sprayed alot more fogging oil then is needed.
