Am I lugging Evinrude 150?

98 Evinrude Ocena Pro. Lot's of work done on this boat/motor.

Compression 82-87 on all 6 cylinders. Motors finally running well.

Got the motor with a "spun hub" 15/17 SS prop. Put on a factory aluminum 15/15. Only able to turn 5100. Dropped to a 15/13 and now 5400 rpm with me and about 20 gallons of gas.

Factory manual says WOT range 4500-5500. The mechanic (and me) was hoping to see rpms around 5800 with a light load.

But I'm already down to a 13 pitch and my MPH dropped to about 33.

Boat is a 21 ft Sunbird Neptune Walkaround- about 2900 lbs dry.
I have the motor trimmed up as far as I can.

So I am at 5400 rpm light load- add gear, passengers, 60 gallons of gas- don't know where I will end up. Maybe 5000-5100?

Do you think I am asking for trouble by not getting more RPM's (not sure how I would get there anyway at this point)?

Thanks

If your able to keep it in the 5000-5200rpm range I wouldn't worry, your not lugging the motor.
