78' Skeeter. Went to the local lake to do some fishing with the wife. Backed the boat in the water and it won't start. Pull it out check everything on the motor. Try cranking again, and finally gave up no spark. So we came home. The next day I tell my friend of our episode and he asked if the plug on the kill switch was undone.....duh. Well it started right up when I put it back on:D

well there are worse things to forget or miss or get wrong. That one would be like a breath of fresh air in a way. Just think how good you felt when you found out that is all it was...the kill switch....$0 bucks....ready to roll.
Even better than simply being out of gas.

I thought only experienced motorcycle riders did stuff like that.

Rest assure, you ain't the only one. I'm sure there are many who have done that. My two year old was on my boat with me one day while I was prepping for a tournament and apparently had flipped the switch. The next morning at the ramp, I sat there cranking for I a while until I looked down and reallized what had happened.

Re: Am I the only one?

I had to drive all the way back home from the ramp once because the boat would not start. Cranked and cranked and cranked until I was afraid the starter would scatter. Only after I got home did I realize I had accidentally moved the manual choke lever to full choke. I had replaced a fuel line the week before and must have moved it without knowing. Made me feel real schmart.:)

Ha! More than once I've taken off down the road, bike dies and I start pushing it home before I remember I had turned the under tank petcock off.
