Re: Amazing guitar player - pure talent!
Plenty of people do it. The guitar is played in an "open tuning." I like a lot of what can be found in this style, but I find that I get bored with it quickly.
Then again, if you want to hear "the guitar player from Mars," listen to Michael Hedges sometime! He's realy the one who started most of this, particularly the tapping techniques. He was a conservatory trained, classical guitar player, who strayed into a world all his own, when it came to composition.
BTW, the boogie woogie piano clip was very cool and fun to listen to/watch, so I'll return the favor. Here's a clip of Tommy Emannuel, playing a guitar boogie. What is so amazing about the guy, among other things, is how cleanly he plays an acoustic guitar at lightening fast speeds - there are
very few people who can do this! You might also notice a similarity between the Maton guitar that he is playing and my avatar!
