Re: America has spoken

"Preliminary reports this morning show Dems out voted Reps by about 30%. Reps stayed home in most cases. So, Democrat Americans spoke."

This is true. Initial evaluation suggests repubs stayed home because they are pissed their party has swung too far to the left. The Bush inspired tax cuts worked and in turn generated $-billions in unexpected revenue for the fed gov. Unfortunately, the repubs in congress were able to spend those billions…and more, creating a debt the people do not want and do not think necessary.

The repubs have replaced the dems (aka communists, same thing) as the big spenders in Washington. And the people don’t like that.

and not with petty bs like the attacks on Clinton.

That's laughable.

Clinton wears the "Teflon Kimono". As bad as his foibles were, he's untouchable.

If you think GWB has been "protected", you're sorely misinformed.

Clinton will forever wear the impeached president kimono. And there is NOTHING petty about that.

huh? We've had one party rule now for 6 years. there has been nothing standing in the way of the neo-con agenda and there has been literally no chance at all that GWB would ever be even investigated, let alone impeached.

I think that America has finally realized that one party rule is a bad idea, and putting the dems back in charge of at least one house of Congress is simply restoring some balance.

Huh?

President Clinton was impeached.

The "Teflon Kimono" moniker was about President Reagan, who was NOT impeached, nor has GWB or GB-41.

Only a DEM. wears that badge, as of late.

Hey, we've still got two years to rectify that.

Don't be so sure of that check-mate yet...

Yea, you're probably right. An agenda is yours to promote, charges will be levied, trumped up-most likely.

The Amercian populace is too busy dodging government mandates to pay much attention.

Nixon had the sense to bail, while he still could.....
FWIW, I hope this new congress doesn't waste their time on such folly......JK

LOL.

The problem with the demonization rhetoric of the right is that too many actually begin to believe it.

Relax, the sky is not falling! If we on the otherside can somehow survive the likes of Cheney and W and Hastert and DeLay and Cunningham, et al. You all can survive the likes of Pelosi.

I know you can!

LOL

Yes, America has spoken and the Dems are the recipients of America's choice. Therefore, we now know the "Who."

I'm more interested in the "What." What will be done, actually accomplished, by the new majorities? You have to admit the Dems won't have much trouble delivering on the campaign promises since there weren't any except to throw the Reps out of office.

The outties are now the innies....

Might we see a playing out of the "Be careful what you wish for" syndrome when the Dems realize they are now responsible for addressing all the things they criticized in the past few years?

Yeah, that’s what I meant. It is disingenuous to refer to the scumbag as ‘Prez Clinton.’. He should always be referred to as ‘the impeached, former prez Clinton’.

True, I think it could be a slam dunk for the dems. They can always stay the course in Iraq ( since they had no plan) and just invent a different title they can call their own. The media will bubble over and and gladly carry the water. The only real work is the spin and that aint work for the press. They will free the libs up so they can supeana the administration and the pres for War crimes.
Nancy must be getting wet at the possibilities..8)
