AMETECH ENGINE RESTORE OIL

Are they any good? Never seen it in auto shop here in England.<br /><br />

<br /><br />There should be no need for engine rebuilt if it is as good as it say it is. All one's need to apply it every year.

I take most Of these things with a grain of salt, I have seen more often than not, "If they say it works miracles, it's probably a miracle if it works". JMHO An engine job in a can, a lot of Mechanics out of work!

That stuff is for 4 stroke automotive engines, KHC. I used it years ago in a 1951 MB220 that had over 500,000KM on the engine. It did restore the oil pressure to calming levels and quiet the valve train.<br /><br />NEVER let it get near an outboard unless you intend to destroy it. :eek: <br /><br />I'm going to move this to Non-boating Tech.

I will go with JB on boat motors, since I have no idea. On a car I will definetely recommend it. I have used it in several "dead" cars and it brought them to life. Restore, and the Trans X product in the old style oil can are the only products that I have ever seen to work as claimed. As a word of warning though Restore must be used more than once a year. It says every oil change, I got by just fine with every other change.
