has anyone out there had any experiences with these products ? I hear they have a great PowerFoam carb cleaner, and a 100:1 synthetic oil that is supposedly the best ?

Re: AMSOIL

I have a friend who is a Tohatsu dealer, he swears by the Amsoil TCW-III.

Re: AMSOIL

Hello troyo: I have tried this oil in a 70hp Merc. Was using conventional 50:1 TCW-II at the time I switched. Noticed big improvement in idle quality and top end speed. Absolutely no smoke under any conditions. Found it too pricey, so switched to OPTI II one mix (100:1) almost as good results. Put it in an old johnson with babbit bearings.....engine ran hot at 100:1......silly me. It said on the jug.....any two-cycle!!!!
This prompted me to do some research...
Don't know if you guys ever heard of Imperial Esso....LOL. Phoned buddy over there(the kahuna) He told me a horror story he was involved in with the use of amsoil in small air-cooled engines. Result of this conversation was.....DON'T!! Air cooled run hotter than liquid cooled and require a different additive pack for the higher heat.(keeps ring land areas cleaner to prevent excessive heat from solidifying carbon and seizing rings) But amsoil should function well in water-cooled applications. 100:1 still makes me nervous....especially if you're idling or just off idle. My boat is started, run for couple minutes, then close to WOT till I get to fishin hole. If I planned on putting around, trolling here and there, sight seeing or just taking it easy.....I think I'd use amsoil or opti but I'd mix a safer ratio of 75:1(but I'm paranoid)
WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS, USE A GOOD QUALITY OF TCW-III AND MIX ACCORDING TO OEM.....LOL
