I know that people here say Bayliners are piles of doo-doo but I just bought one. An 86 Capri.

$800 / No motor.

The upholstery is worn, the floor has been repaired (but is mostly solid) and the transom has very very little flex (my 300+lb butt standing on an outboard motor end). So structurally it's in decent shape, and I expect it to last fine for the summer for me and my 10y/o boy.

I even consider this boat to be a fixer upper. Why? Because it was cheap. I'm becoming accustomed to the idea that pretty much any used boat needing fiberglass work. Or, at least any boat that I'll be able to afford.

I have a 65hp Mercury outboard for it. I need to patch some holes in the transom (about 4 motors have hung on this boat) and hang my motor on it. But as ugly as it is, I can see a nice boat under the surface.

Maybe Bayliners have a bad rap, and I can see that the boat isn't 100% in quality. But if it'll get me on the water THIS season, I'm happy.

That being said, I hope that people will have patience and understanding with me while I use and fix this beast up.

Thanks
