An other water pump question

My 2000 8 hrs 2 storke has never had its impeller replaced.
Got the 3 bolts out and attemped tp get the LU off. It dropped
about 1 1/2" and stuck! Should I force it, or am I missing
something?

Did you disconnect the shifting linkage? If everything is disconnected, the lower unit should practically fall off in most cases.

No, I did not see where it is connected!
I am used to an 18, 60 and a 115, they just drop!
