the 1987 88spl I picked up showed no compression in the lower cylinder of one bank and only 90 psi in the top...while the other side both went 120 psi.

so i popped the head and I can see the piston tops are buggered up bad and ther eis scouring where something got caught in on of the ports and the piston and rings dragged it down the cylinder walls

is it possible that rings coming apart from the lower cylinder somehow found their way into the intake of the upper cylinder???

the lower cylinder was bone dry.....while all the other plugs were wet( i didnt fire it over....I just cranked it over)

too bad.....this was a freash water motor and at one point someone had written the compression on each head and they were all 120 and 115.

zero corrosion and the head bolts all came out nice..

anyone need V4 parts from an 87?? ha ha ha
