Has anyone heard of Ancheer Outboard Motors ? Who makes them & where (China I suppose). Does the manufacturer have a web site? I've seen Ancheer on Amazon under Outboard Motor. Any info will be appreciated. I accidentally put this same post in inboards, sorry

The post has been taker care of, Prop.

This thing looks remarkably like a Hangkai. Wonder if it's a remarketing of them. And Ancheer sells a lot of other, for lack of a better word - Junk.

Two things.

The name sounds too much like anchor. Not a good image for a motor.

This Y tube review might be relevant or irreverent.

Looks like there may be better options for low cost Asia motors.

Is the Ancheer motor a 2 legged dog or just a dog? LOL

The Youtube vid title and video don't go together, :smile. The next one up was for a Hangkai, which I think is the same motor with different markings.

What is the purpose for you?

Maybe grab an old johnny 5 HP and clean it up. Will last forever, might cost less and parts are available.

I use a small outboard on a Indian River square back canoe, great for small rivers. I have a 40 (4hp) Mercury from 1979, still runs but salt water ate up the cooling passages, I'm afraid to get too far from home with it, Then I also had a 1997 Johnson 3.3, ran like a sewing machine but the frame of it wasn't holding up, it was shaking itself apart frame wise. But then I left it in my dad's shed.... the shed got struck by lightning and burned the 3.3, some oars and a bunch of other stuff to a crisp. The 3.3 Johnson was made over-there some where, so this one is too I guess

The cowling pictured top above has vents, bad idea, water will go in the vents at times, not good to have it vented like that., the lower picture 4 has a better lid

It came in, Runs Good, Prep included 90w gear oil added to foot, Briggs & Stratton 5018H gas screen on gas line. Break-in 25:1 for 10 hours then mix back to 50:1, I'm using Valvoline TCW3 2 stroke marine oil.

Does it say anywhere on it, or in the paper work, who actually makes it?

Oddly enough I can't find any supporting information other than the owners manual. Although the motor is described on cowl as 4.0 HP the owners manual calls it a T3.5, the first paragraph in manual thanks you for choosing a Shunfeng outboard. I can't find a mfg. label or serial number anywhere on it. It seems very familiar like its a patent copy of a discontinued 2 stroke. But it does run good! See YouTube

I hope it runs good for a long, long time. Sounds like finding parts for it will be a nightmare.

The starter rope seems to be it's weakest point, I already got to the end of the rope while starting, if it snaps, then the fun begins
