Anchor Chain

In another thread, someone brought up bargains to be found at the Boating section at Walmart.

One item mentioned was anchor chain. The best source I know of for anchor chain is Lowe's. The Lowe's stores in my area stock anchor chain in bulk and will cut it to your specification. It's a much better value than the pre-cut lengths typically stocked at places like Walmart or Bass Pro, especially if you want 10'-12' of chain.

this is a good point...that was me that bought mine at walmart, i was in a pinch and didnt have time to swing by lowes, match up shackles, etc...but that is my plan in the future, to get some heavy duty chain, about 6 or 8 ft. of it cut to length. I paid $13 for 4 ft. with oversized rings and 2 shackles. its small, 1/4" but is rated strong enough for my needs.
