Hey guys - just bought a new boat (17' cc) and things all "worked" for the test drive...of course i forgot a thing or two but most everything i've remembered to check since works. I've found a problem with the anchor light, though.....it works just find when the light switch is in NAV (which turns on both the front red/green running lights and the stern light, but when i flip the switch down to "anchor" the light won't come on. Since it works in NAV position I tend to think that the wiring and connections are good....could it just be a bad switch at the console??

Thanks,
Scott

Before condemning the switch, check your switch connections for corrosion or loose/missing leads.

+1 probably has 2 leads to the light (one for nav/anchor, one for anchor only).

If possible post a pic of the wiring on tie back of the switch.

Here's how it is suppos3ed to be connected. You just might need a jumper wire. It's possible the PO messed with it and didn't know how to reconnect anything.

That drawing is perfect. Like mentioned above check for corrosion, loose & missing leads. If the switch is bad sometimes it will feel 'weak' switching over to the stern only position as well
