Hi all
I have a 15' Valco Westcoaster & I need an anchor. The empty 1-2gal washer fluid bottle I filled with concrete is not cutting it.
I fish salt & fresh, bottom is usally sand or mud. I would no dout use it more on the lake to hold position in the wind then in the ocean. I mostly drift when fishing in salt.
Any suggestions guys?
Thanks

Dog, put some chain on it as well...maybe 5'-6' of 3/8". It'll help the flukes grab the bottom.

Wind Dog, what was suggested will work, but is likely overkill. You might check the danford web page. I would think a 6 pounder would work fine.

I'm "trolling" iboats right now, looks like the smallest they have is 9lb. I'll keep looking.

Go with the 9 lb, that extra pound you will never notice......until you get a real windy day and then that extra pound will be worth it.

Thanks again guys!
I think "overkill" in this case is a good thing. The Valco catches alot of wind. I ordered a 9lb danforth @ 1/4" x 4' coated chain & quick links.
