Just curious, how do you store your ANCHOR and deploy/retrieve on an 18ft boat?

Currently I am using a Milk Crate and I deploy/retrieve by hand. Unfortunately I have managed to scratch the gunnel with the chain.

Is this an open or closed bow? If it is a closed bow you can buy a hatch cover already hinged and cut it into the front deck so you have an anchor locker. If it is open bow you can normally lift a cushion in the front and inset a anchor locker below the front seating area. As far as scratches on the boat from the chain, they make guides that the anchor rope / chain goes through to keep it away from the boat.

i used a 1 1/2" thru hull fitting just aft of the front cleat, i thread my line down the hole, anchor goes under the front section of the bow rider. used a piece of ply to divide the area. works great. Oh yeah, the tail end of the line has a large washer on it so you don't trailer it all out.

My bow is open the boat is a Crestliner 1850 SF. I store the anchor in a mikl crate but it takes up a lot of room.

Guess thats all I can do.
