Re: Anchoring??? I am having difficulty.......
OK, got to say it. We purchased our Monterey 302 CR in Feb. I like to know how much I have out, so I started pulling rope/chain out of locker to see how much I had and mark it. Ended up with a 22# Delta plow anchor, 30' chain and 250' three strand nylon rope.
FYI, this boat was used off S. California to San Clemente Island when new.
Now will I ever need that much on a lake in N. Texas? I hope not!! Will I take it off and reduce the amount of either? Nope!
10:1, 7:1, 3:1. It all depends on what works for you in your enviroment. I usually drop in about 12-15 of water with 30' feet out. Wind blowing, others tie up then I go for 50-60 feet. Have not slipped yet!
If you are letting 150 feet out and still not hooking, I would look to your anchor as the problem.
