I've been in close contact with the marina where the 'new' boat is stored and being worked on. Finally, after a seriously lousy Spring (if you can even call it Spring), we'll drive the boat to its summer dock tomorrow. The detailers (a one-time gift to my wife) finished the cabin yesterday and are cleaning and waxing the rest as I type. Later this afternoon Lin and I will pay off the marina, retrieve the keys and load the boat.

The waters in the area where I bought and stored it (Seaford) are a little 'complicated', so one of my Power Squadron buds is going with us to help me to the State Channel. After that, it's an easy run to the dock in Bayshore. I'll probably spend every evening next week figuring out how everything works. The Four Winns has a lot more stuff in it than the Chris*Craft did. I want to be ready for the Memorial Day raft-up weekend.

I'm pretty excited and a little scared. Wish us luck! :)

Nothing wrong with being excited and a little scared, JoLin. I think I get that way prior to every long trip I've ever made. I think once you leave the dock, all of that will go away and a big smile will return. Enjoy yourself............and o' yeh.......Good Luck!

Congrats on the new boat. That little bit of "scared" I refer to as anxious. It will keep you on your toes and keep you safe. It's when you get careless and aren't paying attention that the problems creep in.

Best of luck with your new toy.
