I'm no expert, but agree with putting the boards across the stringers, I even made mine a little wider than they were just to support and attach the deck joints. Ditchbangin= 3 hours of fun followed by 3 days of aches and pains...been there done that.
Well finally got a break with the weather and work. Finally quit snowing/raining and got sunny out last week but just so busy at work by the time I get home it dark out. Any way just finished 5 of the worst hrs I have ever had and got the outside stringers ground down to the hull and ground all of the back of the boat. Still have the keel and the very front to grind. Hope I'll get another nice day soon to get it over and done with. Have any of you experts ever seen body filler ( bondo) to fill on top of the Fiberglass and floor. Man that sh*t is hard to grind out when there's 4 inches of it and 1/2 in thick. Anyway here's some pics of what I got done so far.
Looking good, I had some kind of green filler on the joint when PO did the deck, but it peeled up when I ripped up the floor. Still had a couple inches of rotten original deck wood around perimeter that I cut out to get back to the hull on the edges.
Nice looking boat banshee. Where was that filler? I have seen a few places where bedding was put under stringers. That looked more like where the plywood ties into the deck?
Arch it was put in after they Fiberglassed the floor to the hull. Looks like to was to make a smooth transition. Oh and thanks for the compliment. I've always loved the look of these boats
Well nothing to report on. Been in the -20 to -40 here since the beginning of December. Cold snap just ended Saturday night but the wind is do strong I'm scared it would blow my boat off the trailer. Hope to finish my grinding over my Christmas holiday as long as the weather will let me. Merry Christmas to everyone and have a safe new year
Hey everyone just got back into my iboats. Just wanted to say now that the snow is gone I'm gonna get going on my boat again. Hope to finish some grinding soon. Pics to follow
Winter slumber is over here as well, had a few nice days that I made the most of when I could. Putting it back together is more fun than tearing apart.

Wow it's been a long time since I've been on here. Finally got my a$$ in gear and started grinding again. Probably got another 3hrs of grinding where the bondo was to make the floor a smooth transition before I can start cutting wood. Hope I can get that done sometime this week. Here's a few pics of the progress
Hey everyone got all the grinding done last fall but the boat got moved outside for the winter. Snow just melted and got the garage cleaned up. Looking to go buy some wood and fibre glass tomorrow and get going on this boat. I’ve really procrastinated on finishing my project
