Stupid, retarded and illegal in most states... I was waiting for him to hit a log, rock or flip it. That would have served him right. he obviously had no regard for his or anyone else's safety on the water and a Jet boat 400 HP at 60. My little 4.3 will run 54 at WOT and that's scary enough for me.
Yep I think he has a Brain and common sense deficiency.

I don't know, I still think more beer went out the back of the boat than made it to his mouth.

that was a pretty lame vid. Coors and no girls on the boat.

there is no Open container law in MN in boats, but the DUI/BUI rules apply just as if you were in a car.

The beer all over the boat thing reminds me of a funny little story. I was fishing with a buddy and needed to take a little pee break. So here I am in the open bow peeing in a cup when my buddy decides to give it some gas. My gut reaction was anger until I realized that it was his boat who's floor I just peed on. Some people just don't care what spills in there boat. I guess I'm not too picky myself as I fish, so I get fish slime and blood in my boat all the time.

I just gotta say good luck with that sport... to the guy in the video. Just a lame attempt at humor and someone will have to clean up the spilt beer at the end of the day. Glad to know he's not on the same water that I play on, although there are others from the same gene pool out on my local lakes.

There is no open container law on a boat in Florida but if they see ya drinking and at the helm, you will get breathalyzed. If you blow over .08 you get your picture on the Lake County Sheriff's website for BUI and have to pony up $500 for bail.

Just don't be "that" guy...

yeah it was lame. I was expecting a nice steady stream of beer flowing into his mouth - had that been the case, I would have been impressed. This could have been done by sticking your head out the car window :)

I like to have a couple beers while boating and have studied the Ohio laws - most I can come up with is that you can not be 'visibly / conspicuously consuming" nor operate while intoxicated. I read this as - dont drink a botttle of beer; put it in a Solo cup and make sure you know your limit.

Ok, when I said open container I did not meant be at anchor or beached and have a drink. What I meant is driving while drinking.

Re: And we wonder why boaters are stereotyped

here is a cut and paste from the MN DNR boating guide.

BOATING WHILE INTOXICATED (BWI) -
The alcohol concentration for impaired operation
is now .08.
Operating a motorboat while under the influence
of alcohol, a controlled substance (or its metabolite),
or other illegal chemical is unlawful. Operators
who are impaired may be required to take tests by
an enforcement officer. There is a penalty for refusal.
BWI convictions and refusals are recorded on the
violator?s driver?s license record.

The BWI law does not prohibit drinking alcoholic
beverages aboard boats nor having an open bottle.
The law applies to operators of motorboats that are
not anchored, beached, moored, docked or being
rowed or propelled by non-mechanical means at
the time of the offense.

Like I said, if you are underway, you cant be drinking...

If his boat was "Fast" the wind would have sucked the beer from the can, while the can was in the vertical position!!

Re: And we wonder why boaters are stereotyped

down here in texas it is still thankfully legal to drink at the helm as long as you are under the limit. so the moron in the lame video would be fine, cuz if that was his first beer he didntg even get enough inot hi mouth to make it wet much les get a buzz. what a waste of almost beer!
