I have both bolts and anodes removed from the bottom of the bell housing as one was broken and suspected to be letting her take on water. How tight is the bolt on the inside of the transom supposed to get tightened? Seems like you really couldn't snug them down without stripping or breaking them. Do they have any effect of sealing the bottom of the housing to the outside of the transom and keeping water out? There's very little play with the bolts out but still seems like water could seep in
