1985 Sea Ray SRV300 Mercruiser Twin 5.7L Alpha 1 Gen 1.

I was looking at buying the complete kit of anodes for my outdrives and I noticed the skeg anode was replaced with a flat plate anode. Am I supposed to use the skeg type or the flat plate type? Are the skeg anodes required for twin outdrive applications?
Thank you

Re: Anodes

Do your drives counter rotate??

If so,,,You willl be fine running the flat anode.

If both drives rotate the same direction you may want to keep the fin type on there to help counter, "torque steer". The fin type can be turned at angels to help eliminate steering wheel pull.

Re: Anodes

crawdad, I am guessing that at some point, a prop clearance issue came up, and the fin type anode was replaced with the flat. If your prop clears it, the fin type would indeed provide more corrosion protection.
